What is fertility preservation?

What is egg freezing?
Human egg freezing, or oocyte cryopreservation, is a revolutionary way to preserve your eggs for future use. This process involves extracting your eggs at a time when they would be best able to be fertilized, then freezing and holding them until you are ready for them to be fertilized.
Here’s how it works. After a period of ovulation induction to medically stimulate a greater number of mature eggs than normal, then your eggs are retrieved. Eggs are frozen immediately and kept in a solution that protects them from damage while being frozen.
Once you are ready or healthy enough to get pregnant, Dr. Rodriguez discusses fertilization of the egg and embryo transfer.
